Amid investigations over alleged corruption, the Court of Appeal last week froze 242 bank accounts and insurance policies under the names of Vice President Jejomar Binay, some members of his family, and close associates suspected of being his dummies. The 33-page decision from the appellate court's First Division gave weight to the findings of the Anti-Money Laundering Council, which is looking into Binay's financial transactions and those of entities being linked to him and his family.
